Mount Virginia is a mountain in the Ellsworth Mountains of West Antarctica Ellsworthland . It rises at the north end of a ridge in Pioneer Heights in the Heritage Range . The Splettstoesser Glacier from the southwest and the Schmidt Glacier from the southeast meet on this mountain .
The United States Geological Survey mapped it as part of the mapping of the Ellsworth Mountains from 1961 to 1966 using on-site surveys and aerial photographs by the United States Navy . The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names named him in 1966 after the geographer Virginia S. Taylor, who was a member of the committee from 1961 to 1965.
