The Schmidt Glacier is a 30 km long glacier in the West Antarctic Ellsworthland . In the Pioneer Heights of the Heritage Range in the Ellsworth Mountains, it flows from the area around Hall Peak in a northerly direction along the west side of the Thompson Escarpment and the Gross Hills . North of Mount Virginia , it flows into the lower section of the Splettstoesser Glacier .
A team from the University of Minnesota to explore the Ellsworth Mountains between 1961 and 1962 named him after the geologist Paul G. Schmidt, who belonged to this team.
