Mount Whitcombe is a massive and 1,425 m high mountain in East Antarctic Victoria Land . It rises immediately north of Mount Perseverance and west of Mount Arrowsmith on the western flank of the Evans Piedmont Glacier .
The northern New Zealand survey team of the Commonwealth Trans-Antarctic Expedition (1955-1958) mapped it in 1957 and named it because of its similarity to the mountain of the same name in the New Zealand Alps .
