Mount Windle is a 1970 m high and icy mountain in East Antarctic Victoria Land . In the north of the Royal Society Range it towers over the western part of the Cathedral Rocks on the southern flank of the Ferrar Glacier .
The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names named it in 1992 based on the naming of the Chaplains Tableland . It is named after Lieutenant David L. Windle (* 1931) of the United States Navy , who was a chaplain at McMurdo Station in the Antarctic winter of 1963 .
