The museum is located at Frauentorstraße 30 in the Augsburg district of Bleich und Pfärrle .

Exhibition until 2018

The collections of the house include books, letters, engravings as well as sheet music and musical instruments. The central exhibit was an almost original grand piano from 1785 from the workshop of Johann Andreas Stein , on which both Mozarts played. In a letter, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart was enthusiastic about the manufacturer's instruments.

Violins , cellos , French horns , kettle drums and trumpets from the 17th and 18th centuries complemented the picture, as did listening stations with music from the 18th century.
