The Mubadala Development Company ( Arabic شركة مبادلة للتنمية, DMG šarikat mudābala li-t-tanmiya ) is a state-owned company with its headquarters in Abu Dhabi , the capital of the United Arab Emirates . In the form of a sovereign wealth fund , it focuses on building and managing a large and economically diversified investment portfolio. Mubadala’s investment strategy is mainly based on long-term and capital-intensive investments with strong returns.

By law of January 21, 2017 , Mubadala Development merged with International Petroleum Investment Company to form Mubadala Investment Company .

The company manages a portfolio valued at more than $ 10 billion in the energy, aerospace, real estate, healthcare, high tech, infrastructure and services sectors.
