Muhammad Fu'ad Abdul-Baqi
Muhammad Fu'ad Abdul-Baqi ( Arabic محمد فؤاد عبد الباقي, DMG Muḥammad Fuʾād ʿAbd al-Bāqī ; born 1882 in Mit Helfa, al-Qalyūbīya ; died 1968 in Cairo ) was an Egyptian scholar of Islam, poet and translator from French and English.
He is the author of many books relating to the Koran and the Sunna , including indexes that give the reader access to the hadith of the Islamic prophet Mohammed . He first worked as an Arabic teacher and then as a translator for a bank. He was friends with Rashid Rida , the Egyptian reformer of Islam and editor of the magazine al-Manār . Abdul-Baqi's collection of hadiths al-Luʾluʾ wa-'l-marǧān (based on Saheeh al-Buchari and Saheeh Muslim ), which were so named because of their value and authenticity, was translated into English by Muhammad M. Khan . The Handbook of early Muhammadan tradition of Arent January Wensinck (1882-1939) translated Abdul-Baqi into Arabic.
