Mundo Deportivo ('SportsWorld'), until 1999 El Mundo Deportivo is aSpanish sports newspaper publisheddaily in Barcelona . The newspaper first appeared in 1906 and isthe second oldest in Europeafter the Italian La Gazzetta dello Sport .
The newspaper belongs to the Grupo Godó , which also publishes the daily La Vanguardia . The sports newspaper mainly deals with football , especially with FC Barcelona , but also reports on the Spanish basketball league , the motorcycle world championship , Formula 1 and cycling, among other things . In addition, regionally different editions are published, for example Mundo Atlético focuses on Atlético Madrid , Mundo Deportivo Bizkaia with Athletic Bilbao and Mundo Deportivo Gipuzkoa with Real Sociedad .
