Tulancingo de Bravo is a municipality in the Mexican state of Hidalgo . The seat of the municipality and the largest place in the municipality is Tulancingo , the second largest city of Hidalgos. The next larger towns in the municipality are Jaltepec , Javier Rojo Gómez , Parque Urbano Napateco and Santa Ana Hueytlalpan .
The community had 151,584 inhabitants in 2010, making it the second largest in the state by population, its area is 218 km² .

Tulancingo de Bravo is located in the east of the state of Hidalgo, 120 km northeast of Mexico City and 40 km east of Pachuca , the capital of Hidalgos.
The municipality borders on the municipalities Metepec , Acaxochitlán , Cuautepec de Hinojosa , Santiago Tulantepec de Lugo Guerrero , Singuilucan and Acatlán .
