action

Christmas is just around the corner and the whole Munster family is already in a festive mood. Lily prepares her famous anthrax biscuits, Herman charges the light bulbs on the Christmas tree with the electrodes on his neck and Marilyn sends out invitation cards for this year's Christmas party to all relatives. The only one who doesn't feel like partying is Eddie. He misses the snow and cold and the annual flu that the old homeland Transylvania had to offer. Now the family is doing everything they can to save Eddie Christmas.

Herman is looking for a second job to be able to buy Eddie the greatest present of all time and Grandpa casts a spell that catapults the real Santa and two of his elves from the North Pole straight into the Munsters' living room. Of course, Santa Claus wants to get back as soon as possible in order to be able to successfully complete this year's tour, but his two helpers have other plans. Wherever you have landed in sunny California, you really want to enjoy the sun, beach and sea.

Meanwhile, Herman is struggling to find a part-time job; As a nude model in a drawing course, the participants flee when the bathrobe falls, and blood donation does not work either. Arriving home, Herman causes Santa Claus to suffer from lumbago after sitting on his lap; the elves take advantage of this chaos and run away.

After Christmas Eve is getting closer and Santa Claus has been turned into a fruit cake by an act of sabotage by the elves, Herman offers to deliver the outstanding fourteen million gifts, but Lily manages to restore Santa Claus to his original form after a few detours. The elves also come back voluntarily, full of guilt because a motorcycle bride rejected them because they don't care about the children.

So Christmas was saved at the last moment. Santa Claus presents Herman with a present for Eddie: The Marquis de Sade's original dungeon game collection and all relatives such as B. Uncle Wolfsmensch, Uncle Horror from the Amazon and Cousin Phantom of the Opera gather for the big Munsters Christmas party.

Reviews

  • Lexicon of international films : “ After the Addams family, the" Munsters ", a gruesome and beautiful television family of the 1960s, are celebrating their resurrection. But this "Christmas Special" cannot compete with the naive charm of the original. The overwhelmed actors charge unrestrainedly and there can be no question of the director's hand in order. A film that tries to tie in with a television cult without having the slightest sense of this type of entertainment. "
  • Cinema : “ The TV reference to the cult series of the 60s shows once more: The“ Addams Family ”is simply more fun, evil and has more class! "
