Murat Şahin (born February 4, 1976 in Istanbul ) is a Turkish former football goalkeeper and coach.
Player career
societies
Şahin began his career in the 1995/96 season with Fenerbahçe Istanbul . He made his debut as a goalkeeper two years later on December 14, 1997 against Şekerspor . During his entire time at Fenerbahçe, Şahin made 7 appearances.
In the second half of the 1999/2000 season he was awarded to Konyaspor for half a year . He did not return to Istanbul, Diyarbakırspor signed him up. In Diyarbakırspor he stayed a season and moved to the second division Adanaspor .
With Adanaspor he was promoted to the Süper Lig . After three years at Adanaspor, he moved to Çaykur Rizespor for half a season . After this short time, Şahin returned to Istanbul and signed a contract with Beşiktaş Istanbul . In Beşiktaş, Şahin could not prevail and spent most of the time as a supplementary player. Beşiktaş Istanbul gave him to Gaziantepspor for the remainder of the 2007/08 season . In Gaziantep he came back to more missions, so it was decided to transfer the goalkeeper.
For the 2009/10 season he moved to the Süper Lig promoted Kasımpaşa Istanbul . Here he came as the second goalkeeper in two seasons on 23 league appearances. At the end of the 2010/11 season he was suspended by the club.
With the expiry of his contract, he moved to the third division Eyüpspor for the 2011/12 season . Following this season he ended his active playing career.
National team
Murat Şahin began with the Turkish national team at the 2003 FIFA Confederations Cup in part. Here he was the third goalkeeper and was not used during the tournament.
Coaching career
With the end of his playing career at Eyüpspor, he then took over as head coach of the club.
In November 2013 he was introduced as goalkeeping coach at his former club Gaziantepspor and will assist his former teammate Sergen Yalçın .
