The Murchison River is a small alpine river in the Aoraki / Mount Cook National Park on the South Island of New Zealand .

geography

The Murchison River is around 16 km long and has its origin in a glacial lake of the Murchison Glacier around 6 km south of the Malte Brun . The river meanders through the glacier valley of the Murchison Glacier, located between the Malte Brun Range and Liebig Range and flows into Tasman Lake not far from the outlet to the Tasman River .
