Muriel Robb
Muriel Evelyn Robb (born May 13, 1878 in Newcastle upon Tyne , † February 12, 1907 there ) was a British tennis player .
Robb attended Cheltenham College . She learned the game of tennis from her parents and a governess . From 1896 she took part in tournaments and won the tournament in Newcastle a year later. In 1899 she won the Derbyshire and Wales Championships . In 1900 she won the Wimbledon Championships alongside Alice Pickering , and the Irish Championships in Dublin a year later .
In 1902 she won the women's singles final at the Wimbledon Championships. She defeated Charlotte Cooper in the final .
In the following years Robb did not appear in any tournament. She died in 1907 at the age of 28 years at their home in Newcastle to cancer . This makes her the one who died at the youngest age of all the winners at Wimbledon.
