The “Pilgrims & Pilgrims” Museum Dettelbach (also Pilgrims & Pilgrims Museum Dettelbach , Pilgrims & Pilgrims ) is a museum for Christian art in the core town of Dettelbach in Lower Franconia . The museum was housed in house Markt 13, the so-called Baumann house, which is one of the oldest buildings in the city. It is a two-story saddle roof building with a half-timbered upper floor . The house was marked with the years 1478 and 1536. Its pointed gable and the town hall behind it form an urban ensemble. A modern glass facade was added to the house, in which the tourist information can be found.

The “Pilgrims & Pilgrims” museum is a Christian art museum. The curators chose the Christian motifs of pilgrimage and pilgrimage as a thematic bracket, juxtaposing old and new art. Theologically transferred, the focus is on suffering and the search for meaning. Suffering was referred to in many objects. In particular, the depiction of the suffering Our Lady, the so-called Pietà , was taken up several times in the museum.

In total, there are almost 300 exhibits on 335 square meters in the museum . The prelude is a representation of the Archangel Raphael, who is considered the patron saint of pilgrims. The focus of the exhibition is a wayside shrine from the 18th century, which with a depiction of the Dettelbacher miraculous image refers to the great influence of the pilgrimage to Maria im Sand.
