Musha ( Île Moucha ) is a small coral island of Djibouti in the Gulf of Tadjoura . The island is about fifteen kilometers north of the capital of Djibouti, Djibouti City , and belongs to the capital district, specifically to the Sixth Arrondissement (Arrondissement du Plateau), which coincides with the commune Ras-Dika. Together with nearby islands such as Maskal (one and a half kilometers west) and Île du Large (700 meters south), Musha forms the group of Musha Islands .
The island is best known for its mangrove areas , its diverse underwater world and diving areas. It is designated as a protected area.
Moucha Airport ( IATA : MHI, ICAO : HDMO) is located on the island . In the northeast there is a 17 meter high lighthouse made of metal half-timbered construction .
