Musica ( Italian for music is) the second solo album by Giovanni Zarrella . It reached number 90 on the German Media Control album charts.
background
Before the album was released, the single Wundervoll was released on October 17, 2008 , which was used as the theme song of the celebrity documentary Jana Ina & Giovanni - We are pregnant . The song pays homage to Giovanni Zarrella's wife Jana Ina . The German-Italian ballad placed 9th in the German single charts. The music video was shot in the Cube studios in Hamburg. In the video, Zarrella plays a photographer who has different people in front of his camera, all of whom are "wonderful". In addition to Zarrella, his father Bruno and his brother Stefano can also be seen in the video.
The album Musica , which was produced by Alexander Geringas , was completed on November 1, 2008 and released on November 21, 2008. A cover version of the song Piccola e Fragile by Drupi is present in two versions on the album. Since it was his parents' favorite song, Zarrella also recorded it as a duet with his father.
Bigger than ever , which only came on the album at the last second, Zarrella dedicated to his son Gabriel Bruno: “The song is dedicated to my son. Since he's here, I feel bigger than ever ”. The most beautiful thing about you is you is from Melanie Chisholm , Charlie Grant and Def-Leppard producer Pete Woodroffe. The text was completely rewritten by Justin Balk. Sogna comes from the songwriter Claudio Guidetti, who u. a. also worked with Eros Ramazzotti on the songs Il Cielo and Calma apparente . In the song Il Mondo , Giovanni Zarrella pokes fun at Italo-Pop and strings together Italian terms such as “Calamari Fritti” and “ Monica Bellucci ”.
The album reached number 90 and fell off the charts again after a week. It was originally planned that Giovanni would present the songs on the album on a club tour in March 2009. However, this was canceled except for the first concert in Cologne due to the shooting of the ProSieben show Germany's most terrible ... that Zarrella presented. In the summer of 2009 he appeared in the REWE Festival program.

New edition Ancora Musica
In 2010, parallel to the new documentary Jana Ina & Giovanni - Pizza, Pasta & Amore, there was also new music by Giovanni. On January 22, 2010, the theme song for the show I Can't Dance Alone , a duet with his former bandmate Ross Antony , was released as a 2-track single with the song Il Mondo . On February 5, 2010, his second album Ancora Musica was reissued , with five new songs added. For the songs Piccola e Fragile and Ti Amero , promo videos were released in support of the album.
