Drupi (born August 10, 1947 in Pavia , actually Giampiero Anelli ) is an Italian singer .

biography

The northern Italian singer was inspired by the music of the Beatles at an early age , his stage name refers to the Tex-Avery figure Droopy Dog . In the mid-1960s he was already a member of a rock band called "The Magnets", but also drove motocross races and gave diving lessons. The solo career as a singer began in the early 1970s.

Drupi first performed at the Sanremo Festival in 1973 and came last with his song Vado via . The song made it to the top of the singles charts in France and in the top 20 in England. This was followed by the singles Piccola e fragile , Sereno è , Due and Sambariò (from the Sanremo Festival 1976 ), which were successful in several European countries Drupi appeared in many German television programs in the mid-1970s and was often heard on the radio.

In 1982 he took third place in Sanremo and appeared five more times with Regalami un sorriso ( 1984 ), Fammi volare ( 1985 ), Era bella davvero ( 1988 ), Un uomo in più ( 1992 ) and Voglio una donna ( 1995 ) Festival on.
