The musical project Neunkirchen is an event organized by the city marketing of Neunkirchen ( district Neunkirchen , Saarland ), the Neunkircher Culture Society and the Tourist Neunkirchen was realized. There are only amateurs on stage. Lord Mayor Jürgen Fried is still the patron today.

Emergence

In December 2002 the musical project was developed by Martin Leutgeb and Markus A. Müller at the initiative of Jürgen Fried. Jürgen Fried wanted to create a unique selling point for the city of Neunkirchen . After the idea of ​​the musical project was born, a team was put together that at the time consisted of Ellen Kärcher, Charles Bankston, Andreas Puhl, Amby Schillo and Alexander Wendt. 390 people attended the casting, 170 of whom were included in the project.

Artistic staff

The artistic staff of the musical project Neunkirchen changed several times in the years of its existence. The original constellation included Ellen Kärcher, Charles Bankston, Andreas Puhl, Amby Schillo and Alexander Wendt. In 2006 Ela Otto joined and Matthias Brill replaced Alexander Wendt as vocal coach. A year later, Dieter Meier and Francesco Cottone joined the team. The staff currently consists of Ellen Kärcher, Amby Schillo, Francesco Cottone and Markus Müller.

Projects

The first project of the musical project Neunkirchen was performed in 2003 and was called "The Casting". In the play, a new superstar was sought at a casting. Various famous musical songs appeared in the production, for example from Hair or Starlight Express . The world premiere was on August 23, 2003 and the play was performed five times.

The premiere of “Merlin. We can do it differently ”. Here the story of King Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table was told as a musical. For this purpose, Martin Leutgeb dealt intensively with history. All songs and dialogues were written especially for the musical. The project was performed again in 2005 and there were a total of 16 performances.

The project that followed was called “Hotel. Lobby 20.30 ”and premiered on August 18, 2006. A day at the Parkhotel is told in a funny way. "Hotel" was only played in one year and accordingly there were 8 performances, all of which were sold out.

The project “Lysistrate. KampfesLust und LiebesList “was listed again for two consecutive years. It premiered on August 17, 2007. The musical was about the historic sex strike of women in Athens to force peace in their country.

In 2009, “STUMM. The Musical “ tells the story of Karl Ferdinand Freiherr von Stumm . The premiere took place on August 21, 2009 and in 2010 the musical was performed again.

In 2011 and 2012 the project “BeGEISTert. The Musical Revue ”implemented. Scenes and songs from the last nine years of the musical project were taken up here. The world premiere took place on August 5th, 2011.

In 2012, two pieces were performed for the first time in a year. The new blower hall in Neunkirchen opened on November 30, 2012 with the musical “Der Jedermann!”. The musical was based on the play of the same name by Hugo von Hofmannsthal and was performed again in 2013.

The penultimate project of the musical project Neunkirchen was called “Steam. The fantasy musical. A moment in eternity ”. For the first time, history was even completely rewritten. Inspired by the steampunk scene , Steam tells a story of what could have happened if our world had developed in a different way. The musical was performed for the first time in Neunkirchen on September 5, 2014. There was a resumption in 2015.

On the occasion of Marie Juchacz 's 150th birthday, the Saarland workers ' welfare organization commissioned a musical for the Neunkirchen musical project that stages the most important years in the life of the co-founder of the German workers' welfare organization and the first woman to give a speech in a German parliament. On August 9, 2019 it was premiered under the title “Gentlemen and Ladies: Marie!”. The singer Nina Sepeur appeared in the role of Marie, Hannah Neumann played Marie's sister Elisabeth.
