Musina Ebobissé

Musina Ebobissé (* 1990 in France ) is a French jazz musician ( tenor saxophone , composition ).

Live and act

Ebobissé, who grew up in a musical family, began playing the saxophone at the age of eight. In 2008 he began studying jazz at the Strasburg Conservatory with Eric Watson , Michaël Alizon, Philippe Aubry and Bernard Struber . In addition, he played in music projects in various musical genres. He also completed a bachelor's degree in sociology in Strasbourg in 2012 . In 2013 Ebobissé moved to Berlin, where he completed his bachelor's degree in jazz performance and, in 2019, a master's degree in jazz composition at the Jazz-Institut Berlin with Peter Less , John Hollenbeck , Jim Black , Kurt Rosenwinkel and Greg Cohen .

Ebobissé released his debut album Timeprints with his quintet (which includes Olga Amelchenko , Povel Widestrand, Igor Spallati and Moritz Baumgärtner ) on Double Moon Records in 2019 . He also directed his ERB Trio and Blendreed . Furthermore he belongs to the groups of Ganna Grynivas ( Dyki Lys ), Thijs de Klijn, Olga Amelchenko, the Sazerac Swingers , the Hans Anselm Big Band and the Art Ensemble of Moabit .

Prizes and awards

Ebobissé received second prize at the Katowice International Jazz Composition Competition in 2018.
