Musique Vol. 1 1993-2005 is a compilation album by the French house formation Daft Punk from 2006. It was first published on March 29, 2006 in Japan , and on April 3 of the same year in Germany and the United Kingdom. The first song, Musique, is also included on the official soundtrack for Wipeout 2097 . The album is named after the B-side of Daft Punk's single Da Funk , Musique , as it sold more than her debut album Homework , but Musique was not on that album, explained Thomas Bangalter .

Chart placements

Daft Punk could reach various charts with the album. The US Billboard Dance / Electronic Albums ranked sixth . Overall, you had a placement there for 70 weeks. In Australia they reached number 47 and stayed in the charts for two weeks, in Switzerland they reached number 36, and for five weeks they stayed in the top 75. In both official Belgian charts they were also placed: position 18 (12 weeks) in Wallonia and 38th place (16 weeks) in Flanders.

criticism

The album received mostly positive reviews.

Allmusic's John Bush said that Daft Punk's best productions over the 12 years would have been their singles and the album (mostly made up of songs released as singles) proves this impressively. He awarded 4.5 stars out of five.

Mark Pytlik from Pitchfork Media gave 8.4 out of 10 possible points and nevertheless said that the compilation of Daft Punk's best singles was incomplete.
