Thomas Bangalter (born January 3, 1975 in Paris ) is a French musician . Together with his friend Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo he forms the group Daft Punk .

life and career

Bangalter is the son of Daniel Bangalter, stage name Daniel Vangarde , the manager of Ottawan and composer of hits like DISCO. He shaped the house scene , especially in the late 1990s, both solo and with Daft Punk (see also French House ). In Paris he runs the French house label Roulé , on which u. a. Music colleagues like DJ Falcon and Alan Braxe publish their songs.

Bangalter was also very successful under the pseudonym Stardust . The single Music Sounds Better With You is considered the best-selling record in electronic music and made the French Filter House famous.

In 2002 he composed the score for the film Irreversibel, which is very controversial because of its sex and violence scenes . Bangalter surprised with a modern revision of Symphony No. 7 in A major, Op. 92 by Ludwig van Beethoven . He used modern technology to emphasize the precision of the volume and the processing of highs and lows of the classical piece on the computer. He also wrote the score for Gaspar Noé's film Enter the Void .

Thomas Bangalter lives in Los Angeles with his sons and girlfriend, French actress Élodie Bouchez .
