Mustafa Kazem Dagher al-Saamah (born November 29, 1995 in Basra ) is an Iraqi discus thrower .

Career

Mustafa al-Saamah gained his first international experience at the Arab Junior Championships 2012 in Amman , where he won the gold medal with 52.14 m. He was also sixth at the Junior Asian Championships in Colombo with 52.20 m. In 2013 he finished seventh at the Arab Championships in Doha with 51.48 m. The following year he won with the slightly easier discus both at the Junior Asian Championships in Taipei with 59.32 m and at the Arab Junior Championships in Cairo with 59.52 m. At the beginning of October he took part for the first time in the Asian Games in Incheon , South Korea , he reached tenth place with a throw of 55.21 m and at the 2015 Arab Championships in Manama he won the bronze medal with 60.60 m.

In 2017 he won the Islamic Solidarity Games with 60.89 m and was fourth at the Asian Championships in Bhubaneswar 60.30 m. He qualified for the World Championships in London, where he was eliminated with 58.40 m in qualification . In 2018 he again took part in the Asian Games in Jakarta and won the silver medal behind Iranian Ehsan Hadadi with 60.09 m .

In 2015, 2017 and 2018 al-Saamah was Iraqi champion in the discus throw.
