Mutemwia was an ancient Egyptian queen of the 18th dynasty .

family

Mutemwia was a wife of Thutmose IV. It has previously been assumed that she was the daughter of the Mittanian king Artatama and a concubine who was sent to Egypt for precious treasures to marry Thutmose IV. Today, however, it is more likely that she came from the next-royal line in Achmim .

Mutemwia and Thutmose IV had at least three children: the two sons Amenemhat and Amenophis III. as well as the princess Amen-Ipet .

title

The titles of the Mutemwia:

  1. Great royal consort
  2. Mother of Horus-in-the-Nest
  3. Mistress of the two countries
  4. Consort of Amun ( posthumous award)

death

Mutemwia died during her son's reign and was buried in the Valley of the Queens . The location of her grave is unknown. It is as good as only documented under her son, which suggests that she was only an insignificant concubine under Thutmose IV.
