Mutien-Marie Wiaux
Mutien-Marie Wiaux (born March 20, 1841 in Mellet , Belgium , † January 30, 1917 in Malonne , Belgium) was a Belgian friar of the Christian School Brothers and is a saint of the Roman Catholic Church.
Life
Louis-Joseph joined the Christian School Brothers of Saint Jean Baptiste de La Salle at the age of 15 and took the name Mutien-Marie. For almost six decades he taught at the college in Malonne, whose rescue from the German occupiers in the First World War is attributed to him. He was beatified in 1977 and canonized in 1989.
