Myriam Baverel (born January 14, 1981 in Chambéry ) is a former French Taekwondoin .

Baverel has participated in international competitions since 1997. At the European Junior Championships in Patras and the 1998 European Championships in Eindhoven , however, she was initially eliminated after their opening fights. She qualified for the 2000 Olympic Games in Sydney , where she reached the quarter-finals in the class over 67 kilograms, but was eliminated there against Adriana Carmona . Baverel won her first international medal at the 2003 World Cup in Garmisch-Partenkirchen . In the class up to 72 kilograms she reached the final against Luo Wei and won the silver medal. In the following year Baverel celebrated her greatest sporting success. She qualified for her second Olympic Games in Athens in the 67kg class . There she reached the semi-finals with two opening wins, where she narrowly defeated Nadin Dawani . In the final against Chen Zhong she lost a lot and won silver.

After the games, Baverel ended her active career. As a leader of youth courses, she remained connected to Taekwondo.
