Nadin Dawani ( Arabic نادين دواني; * April 20, 1988 in Amman ) is a Jordanian Taekwondoin who is active in the heavyweight division.
Dawani played her first international title fights at the age of 13. In Hua Chang she was in the class up to 63 kilograms junior Asian champion, in the adult division, she made her debut at the 2001 World Cup in Jeju-si . At the 2003 World Cup in Garmisch-Partenkirchen , she reached the round of 16 and achieved her best ever World Cup result. The year 2004 was successful. First Dawani won gold in the heavyweight division at the Pan-Arab Games in Algiers , then she started in the over 67 kilogram class at the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens . She made it to the semi-finals, but narrowly missed a medal after two defeats and finished fifth.
In the following two years Dawani won further medals in the junior division, before she was able to win her first medals in the adult division at the Asian Championships in 2006 in Bangkok with bronze and in Henan in 2008 . She started in Beijing at her second Olympic Games , but retired early after an opening defeat against Sarah Stevenson . At the 2010 Asian Games in Guangzhou , she won bronze in the heavyweight division. At the Asian Olympic qualification tournament in Bangkok in 2011, Dawani was able to secure participation in her third Olympic Games in London in 2012 . She beat Ferusa Jergeschowa in the finals of the class under 67 kilograms . At the 2012 Asian Championships in Ho Chi Minh City , she was the first Asian champion in the 73 kilogram class.
