The northern Rotenmannkopf is a 3127 m above sea level. A. high mountain peaks of the Umbal ridge in the Venediger group in East Tyrol ( Austria ). It is located in the north-west of East Tyrol on the municipal boundary between St. Jakob in Defereggen and Prägraten am Großvenediger . The first ascent of the northern Rotenmannkopf took place on August 17, 1873 by G. Hofmann with J. Grill senior. and J. Berger. The summit was named Rothensäulkopf by the first climbers

The northern Rotenmannkopf and the southern Rotenmannkopf form a double peak on the southern ridge of the Daberspitze , which reaches down to the Schwarzachtörl. The southern ridge of the Daberspitze forms several three-thousand-meter peaks, of which, however, only the summits, known collectively as the Rotenmannkopf or Rotenmannköpf, and the Schwarzachspitze were named. The northern Rotenmannkopf lies between the Daberspitze in the north and the southern Rotenmannspitze in the south. To the west of the northern Rotenmannkopf, the mountain falls to the Schwarzach valley of the Schwarzach , to the east of the mountain peak lies the Karbach, which drains the Hochkar of the Dabertal and flows into the Daberbach .
Promotion opportunities
The northern Rotenmannkopf is an alpine summit of secondary importance. It is accessible from the Clarahütte or the Neue Reichenberger Hütte via the Dabertal, whereby the ascent can be done along the southeast ridge from Schwarzachtörl ( UIAA I ) or via the Hochkar along the southeast ridge. From the Schwarzachtal there is the possibility to ascend via the Oberhausalm and the Schwarzachtörl.
