Attractions

Saint Laurent Church
  • The church of Andoins, dedicated to Lawrence of Rome , was originally built in the 11th century. In 1837 it was decided to rebuild the church in a different location, as it was judged to be too small and in poor condition. This took place between 1840 and 1847 on the site of the chapel of a castle. The mound castle was probably built in the 11th century and demolished in 1380 because the Baron Raymond d'Andoins participated in a conspiracy against the Vice Count of Béarn, Gaston III. Fébus , had attended. In addition to the central nave, today's church contains two aisles. The stained glass windows date from 1923 and 1930.
