Bizanos ( Basque Visanòs ) is a French municipality with 4626 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Pyrénées-Atlantiques in the region Nouvelle-Aquitaine . Bizanos is part of the Pau arrondissement and the Pau-3 canton (until 2015: Pau-Sud canton ). The inhabitants are called Bizanosia .

geography

Bizanos is located in the historic province of Béarn on the Ousse and Lagoin rivers, which flow into the Gave de Pau in the municipality . Bizanos is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Pau in the north and north-west, Idron in the east, Aressy in the south-east, Mazères-Lezons in the south and south-west and Gelos in the west.
