Sault-de-Navailles ( Occitan : Saut de Navalhas ) is a French municipality with 898 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Pyrénées-Atlantiques in the region Nouvelle-Aquitaine (before 2016: Aquitaine ). It is located in the Pau arrondissement and is part of the canton of Artix et Pays de Soubestre (until 2015: canton of Orthez ). The inhabitants are called Saultois .

geography

Sault-de-Navailles is located about 64 kilometers east-northeast of Bayonne in the Béarn wine-growing region on the Luy de Béarn . Sault-de-Navailles is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Marpaps in the north, Castaignos-Souslens and Beyries in the northeast, Bassercles and Labeyrie in the east, Lacadée in the east and southeast, Mesplède in the southeast, Balansun in the south, Sallespisse in the west and southwest and Bonnegarde in the West and northwest.

The place is located on the Via Lemovicensis , one of the four historical " Paths of the Pilgrims of St. James in France ", and on the former Route nationale 133 (today's D933).
