Lagor is a French commune with 1,194 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Pyrénées-Atlantiques in the region Nouvelle-Aquitaine (before 2016: Aquitaine ). It belongs to the Arrondissement of Pau , to the canton of Le Cœur de Béarn (until 2015: canton of Lagor ) and to the community association Lacq-Orthez .
geography
Lagor is about 25 kilometers west-northwest of Pau in the historic province of Béarn . The Gave de Pau flows in the northeast of the municipality. Its tributaries Luzoué and Geü , as well as its tributary Soularau, cross the municipality. Lagor is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Mont in the north, Abidos in the east and northeast, Os-Marsillon in the east, Lahourcade in the south and southeast, Lucq-de-Béarn in the south, Vielleségure in the southwest, Sauvelade in the west and Maslacq in the northwest.
The municipality is also located in the Béarn wine region .
