Poey-de-Lescar ( Occitan : Puei de Lescar ) is a French commune of the department Pyrénées-Atlantiques with 1,621 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the region Nouvelle-Aquitaine . Administratively, it is assigned to the canton of Lescar, Gave et Terres du Pont-Long (until 2015: canton of Lescar ) and the arrondissement of Pau . The inhabitants are called Poeyens .
geography
Poey-de-Lescar is located at the foot of the Pyrenees ten kilometers northwest of Pau in the Béarn wine-growing region on the Ousse des Bois River , a tributary of the Gave de Pau . Poey-de-Lescar is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Beyrie-en-Béarn and Bougarber in the north, Uzein in the northeast, Lescar in the east and southeast, Artiguelouve in the south, Siros in the southwest and Aussevielle in the west and northwest.
Autoroute A64 and Autoroute A65 run through the municipality .
