Nousty ( Occitan : Nostin ) is a French municipality with 1608 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Pyrénées-Atlantiques in the region Nouvelle-Aquitaine . The municipality belongs to the arrondissement of Pau and the canton of Vallées de l'Ousse et du Lagoin (until 2015: canton of Pau-Est ). The inhabitants are called Noustysiens .

geography

Nousty is located in the historic province of Béarn on the river Ousse . Nousty is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Andoins in the north, Limendous in the east and northeast, Soumoulou in the east, Boeil-Bezing in the south and southwest, Angaïs in the southwest and Artigueloutan in the west.

The former route nationale 117 (today's D817) runs through the municipality . The autoroute A64 limits the community in the northeast.
