Lombia lies in the catchment area of the Adour River . One of its tributaries, the Lées , also called Le Grand Lées here , flows along the eastern municipal boundary. Its tributaries, the Hourquet and the Petit Lées , also known as the Ruisseau de Laherrusse on its upper reaches, irrigate the area of the municipality, as does the Arriutort, a tributary of the Lées of the same name .
history
Lombia was in the Middle Ages, a rather modest manorial in a wooded area that the Vicomte was subject of Béarn. The name has its origin in the geographical location and means "elm forest". In the census in Béarn in 1385, ten households were counted and it was noted that the place belonged to the Bailliage of Montaner . In addition, the village had a lay monastery, member of the Commandery of the Order of Malta of Caubin and Morlaàs . The community was known for its miraculous spring la houn de la Pitangue or la houn de Sen Yan , which is said to have helped to cure eye diseases, but according to legend, its effect weakened after a scuffle among the pilgrims .

- Parish church dedicated to the Immaculate Conception . The church was built in 1883 in the middle of the cemetery on the ruins of an earlier church that was built in 1685 and demolished in the 18th century. The materials from the former church were sold to finance the construction of the new building, designed by the architect Serres. The single-nave nave is closed off by an apse with three outer walls and flanked by two side chapels that form a transept. The bell tower above the entrance porch has two bells, one cast by Urselin d'Encausse in 1872 and one with the nickname "Marie" cast by Fourcade in 1838 and again in 1953. Five stained glass windows , the work of the glass painter Gustave Pierre Dagrant from Bordeaux , were used in the construction of the church. They show Saints Peter , Paul and Joseph as well as depictions of the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Assumption of Mary .
