Gabaston is a French municipality with 662 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Pyrénées-Atlantiques in the region Nouvelle-Aquitaine . It belongs to the Arrondissement of Pau and the canton of Pays de Morlaàs et du Montanérès (until 2015: Canton Morlaàs ). The inhabitants are called gabastonnais .

Gabaston is located in the historic province of Béarn on the Gabas and Souye rivers . Gabaston is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Saint-Laurent-Bretagne in the north and northeast, Sedzère in the east and southeast, Espéchède in the south, Ouillon in the south and southwest, Morlaàs in the west and southwest, Saint-Jammes in the west and Higuères-Souye in the west and Northwest.
