Meillon Town Hall (Mairie)

Meillon ( Occitan : Melhon ) is a French municipality with 916 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Pyrénées-Atlantiques in the region Nouvelle-Aquitaine . The municipality belongs to the arrondissement of Pau and the canton of Ouzom, Gave et Rives du Neez (until 2015: canton of Pau-Sud ). The inhabitants are called Meillonais .

geography

Meillon is located about six kilometers southeast of Pau in the historic province of Béarn on the river Gave de Pau , which borders the municipality to the west and south-west. Meillon is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Idron in the north, Lée in the northeast, Assat in the east and southeast, Narcastet in the south, Rontignon in the west and southwest and Aressy in the west and northwest.
