Mirepeix ( Occitan : Mirapeish ) is a French municipality with 1278 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Pyrénées-Atlantiques in the region Nouvelle-Aquitaine (before 2016: Aquitaine ). It belongs to the Arrondissement of Pau and the canton of Vallées de l'Ousse et du Lagoin (until 2015: canton of Nay-Est ). The inhabitants are called mirepeichois .
geography
Mirepeix is located about 15 kilometers southeast of Pau on the Gave de Pau river , which flows on the western edge of the municipality. Mirepeix is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Baudreix in the north, Lagos in the northeast, Bordères in the east and northeast, Bénéjacq in the east, Coarraze in the south and southeast, Nay in the south and southwest and Bourdettes in the west.
