Ger is a French municipality with 1899 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Pyrénées-Atlantiques in the region Nouvelle-Aquitaine . It belongs to the Arrondissement of Pau and is part of the canton of Vallées de l'Ousse et du Lagoin (until 2015: canton of Pontacq ).
geography
Ger is located on the plateau of the same name on the border with the Hautes-Pyrénées department at the foot of the Pyrenees . The Gabas and the Lis flow through Ger . Ger is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Aast and Ponson-Dessus in the north, Oroix in the northeast, Ibos in the east, Azereix in the southeast, Ossun in the south, Pontacq in the south and southwest, Luquet in the west and Gardères in the northwest.
The former route nationale 117 (today's D817) and the autoroute A64 run through the municipality .
