history
The Abère manor appears in mentions from the 10th century. It is successively owned by Gratien de Navailles, Bernard d'Abère, Jehannot de Cauna, Jehan de Laplace, Timothée de Béarn and finally by the Bordenave d'Abère, the last noblemen of the place until the 19th century.
The Château de Bordenave d'Abère was probably built in the 16th century, recognizable by the Gothic style of an opening in the facade and a bay window in the pent roof. The castle was redesigned in the 18th century, as evidenced by the dates at the foot of the stairs (1732) and above the entrance door (1747).
