Uzos ( Occitan : USO ) is a French municipality with 742 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Pyrénées-Atlantiques in the region Nouvelle-Aquitaine . The municipality belongs to the arrondissement of Pau and the canton of Ouzom, Gave et Rives du Neez (until 2015: canton of Pau-Ouest ). The inhabitants are called Uzossia .

geography

Uzos is located about four kilometers southeast of Pau in the historic province of Béarn on the Gave de Pau river , which borders the municipality in the north. Uzos is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Mazères-Lezons in the north and west, Aressy in the northeast, Rontignon in the east and southeast and Gelos in the south and west.
