Gelos is a French commune with 3,543 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Pyrénées-Atlantiques in the region Nouvelle-Aquitaine (before 2016: Aquitaine ). The municipality belongs to the arrondissement of Pau and the canton of Pau-4 (until 2015: Pau-Ouest ). The inhabitants are called Gelosia .

Gelos is located in the historic province of Béarn on the Gave de Pau River , into which the Soust flows. The place belongs to the Jurançon wine region . Gelos is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Pau in the north, Bizanos in the northeast, Mazères-Lezons and Uzos in the east and southeast, Rontignon in the southeast, Bosdarros in the south, Gan in the south and southwest and Jurançon in the west and northwest.
