Attractions

  • Parish church dedicated to John the Baptist . The original Romanesque character of the church was retained even after it was rebuilt in the early 17th century. The reveal of one of the two round arches that separate the main nave from the aisle on the south side bears the year "1600". The building was restored in the 19th century. In the center of the main altar from the second half of the 19th century is a painting showing Christ crucified with Mary and John the Baptist on his sides. The altarpiece is relatively unadorned. Only two cherubins are shown in high relief . The tabernacle , on the other hand, is more richly decorated with a pair of small columns on the front, on the side and at the ends of the shrine. The motif of the Good Shepherd is depicted on the door, the holy wings Peter on the left and Paul on the right. The wings of the tabernacle are decorated with the scene of the Annunciation with the Archangel Gabriel on the left and Mary on the right. The simple side altar is dedicated to Mary, who is embodied in traditional iconography by a statue in a niche above the altarpiece . She is shown upright and in a praying position with her hands closed, wearing a long white dress and a blue stole. On the side walls there are statues of Mary with baby Jesus , St. Anthony and St. Bernadette . As with the statue in the side altar, Maria is dressed in a long dress and a blue stole. Here she is carrying the baby Jesus. The directions of the mother and child are often emphasized in these works, as in this case where they intersect. As usual, St. Anthony wears the habit of a member of the Franciscan order made of brown wool, tied with a cord with three knots. He holds the baby Jesus as an apparition on an open book, a traditional iconography. Saint Bernadette wears the habit of a nun of the Sisters of Mercy, an iconography less common than that of the young shepherdess of the Bigorre Valley.

There is a dovecote in the park . This building has a square floor plan and is eight meters high. Its walls are made of pebbles. It is equipped with an octagonal, with slate -covered helmet covered by a dormer window is broken. Access is via a door on the west side, above which there are three windows.
