history
Fortifications have been found in the municipality that testify to early settlement of the area. The first is from prehistory and its construction took place more than 2,500 years ago. It has an oval shape and measures 175 m × 130 m. Its wall and its trenches can still be seen today. A warehouse from the Gallo-Roman period was discovered when the remains of a sewer system were found near a spring, the waters of which are said to have numerous healing powers. This best-preserved Roman camp in the region was circular and measured 120 meters in diameter over an area of 2.5 hectares.
Saint-Boès developed around a church and an associated lay monastery in the Middle Ages . In the middle of the 13th century, a castle is also mentioned, which was presumably located on the area of a moth , which was elevated above the valley of the Gave de Pau in the southern part of today's municipality. Its owner was the Viscount of Béarn, because Saint-Boès belonged to the Bailliage of Ribère-Gave, whose main town was Baigts-de-Béarn. In the 1385 census of the Béarn, there were 44 households in Saint-Boès.
As part of the Napoleonic Wars , the community played a crucial role in the Battle of Orthez on February 27, 1814 between the Allied army under the command of Arthur Wellesleys , the later Duke of Wellington and the French troops under the command of Maréchal Nicolas Jean-de -Dieu Soult . The capture of Saint-Boès by the Wellington associations came after a tough battle and ushered in victory. 2,500 casualties were counted on each side. A plaque from the Société nationale du souvenir français commemorates the French Brigadier General Jean-Pierre Béchaud and his soldiers who perished defending Saint-Boès.

- Parish church dedicated to the birth of Jesus of Nazareth . It was built in the 19th century with the help of local craftsmen. An arch edged with white stones allows access to the entrance porch on the south side of the building. This decoration is widespread in the Orthez region and can also be found on the facades of farmhouses. One side of the long building is closed off by a semicircular apse , the other side by the bell tower . It is equipped with a curved hood with a roof turret, which ends with a cross at the top. The roof is clad with slate in such a way that it looks like fish scales in the curved part.
