Attractions

  • Parish church of Malaussanne, consecrated to the Apostle Andreas . It dates from the 12th century and was heavily remodeled in the 14th or 15th centuries and restored in the 19th and 20th centuries. The two-aisled nave is closed off by a polygonal apse . The south aisle is separated by three round arches. The ribbed vault of the interior of the church is supported by Gothic pillars . A noteworthy feature is a deep holy water font set in a marble column . Many other items of furniture from the 18th and 19th centuries are registered as national cultural assets. In the choir of the church, the eye falls on an icon that represents the apostle Andrew. It is a work from 2005 by Philippe Grall from the Saint André workshop in Lausanne . Attributes of apostles in representations are usually scrolls or a gospel in the form of an open or closed book. The apostle is holding a scroll in his left hand in this depiction. The St. Andrew's cross does not appear in the picture because, according to the iconographic tradition of the Byzantine rite, saints are depicted without reference to their martyrdom .
  • Country estate called Gaye Castle. It was built in the 16th century and redesigned in the 18th and 16th centuries. The two-storey residential wing is supplemented by a tower, the entrance of which is decorated with a keel arch .
