Narcastet ( Occitan : Narcastèth ) is a French municipality with 754 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Pyrénées-Atlantiques in the region Nouvelle-Aquitaine . The municipality belongs to the arrondissement of Pau and the canton of Ouzom, Gave et Rives du Neez (until 2015: canton of Pau-Ouest ). The inhabitants are called Narcastétois .
geography
Narcastet is located in the historic province of Béarn (with the wine-growing region of the same name ) on the Gave de Pau river , which borders the municipality in the northeast. Narcastet is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Meillon in the north, Assat in the east, Baliros in the east and south-east, Bosdarros in the south and south-west and Rontignon in the west and north-west.
