Artiguelouve ( Occitan : Artigaloba ) is a French commune in the Pyrénées-Atlantiques with 1,621 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the region Nouvelle-Aquitaine . It is assigned to the canton of Lescar, Gave et Terres du Pont-Long (until 2015: canton of Lescar ) and the arrondissement of Pau . The inhabitants are called Artiguelouviens .

geography

Artiguelouve is located at the foot of the Pyrenees 15 kilometers west of Pau in the wine-growing region of Béarn and on the southern bank of the river Gave de Pau , which forms the northeastern municipal boundary. Artiguelouve is surrounded by the neighboring communities Siros and Poey-de-Lescar in the north, Lescar in the east and northeast, Laroin in the southeast, Saint-Faust in the south and southeast, Aubertin in the south and southwest and Arbus in the west.
