Career

The career of Budescu began in the youth of Petrolul Ploiesti , where he arrived in 2005 at the age of 16 years in the first team squad, which at that time Romania in the second division, the Divizia B played. There he became a regular in the storm in the 2006/07 season . With Petrolul he always fought for promotion to League 1 , but mostly just missed it. In the winter break of 2010/11 he left the club to local rivals Astra Ploieşti (later Astra Giurgiu ). There he rarely got a chance in the first two seasons. It was not until the 2012/13 season that he found his permanent place in the team and contributed 13 goals to qualifying for the Europa League . He was able to repeat this in the 2013/14 season , which brought in the runner-up behind Steaua Bucharest . He won his first title with the 2014 cup .

At the beginning of 2016 Budescu left Astra and moved to Dalian Yifang in the Chinese League One . There it was only used four times and was loaned to Astra in August 2016 until the end of the year. He played with his club in the group stage of the Europa League . In the summer of 2017, FCSB Bucharest took him under contract.

For the 2018/19 season he moved to the Saudi Arabian club Al-Shabab .

National team

At the beginning of September 2014, national coach Victor Pițurcă called him to his squad for the European Championship qualifier against Greece , but did not use him. A year later, Pițurcă's successor Anghel Iordănescu nominated him again. On September 4, 2015, he came in the European Championship qualifier against Hungary for his first international match when he came on for Lucian Sânmărtean in the 78th minute . Three days later he started against Greece for the first time. In the next Week of Football in October 2015, he was also part of the squad.
