The Lagoin is a river in France that runs in the Pyrénées-Atlantiques department in the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region . It rises in the municipality of Saint-Vincent , drains generally in a north-westerly direction and after about seven kilometers near Coarraze reaches the valley of the Gave de Pau , which crosses a wide valley here. Here the Lagoin stays on the eastern edge of the valley basin, runs largely parallel to the Gave de Pau and only flows into the Gave de Pau as a right tributary after a total of 29 kilometers in the urban center of Pau , in the municipality of Bizanos .

Since the Lagoin is used to irrigate the valley floor, the Canal de Lagoin was built in the 19th century to improve the water supply to the river , which branches off water from the Gave de Pau and thus supplies the Lagoin as well. At the same time, the Canal de la Plaine , which crosses the plain between the Gave de Pau and the Lagoin, is also endowed through this canal .
