N 6 -Cyclopentyladenosine (CPA) is a synthetic nucleoside . It consists of β- D- ribofuranose (sugar) and a substituted adenine . It differs from adenosine by adding a cyclopentyl group . It is used as a selective agonist to the adenosine receptor .
