The NATO Counter-Intelligence Center of Excellence ( NATO CI COE ) (German: NATO - Counter- Espionage Competence Center) is a Center of Excellence of NATO . The competence center is based in Krakow , Poland . There is a military training area in Lest ( Slovakia ).
assignment
The mandate of the competence center is to improve counter-espionage capabilities in NATO and its member states, to increase interoperability in this area and to provide specialist knowledge. It offers seminars, courses, conferences and working groups.
structure
At the head of the competence center is the director, the deputy director, the chief of staff and the management support. The steering committee and its chairman are in charge of this. The center is divided into five areas:
- Training and practice
- Concept development and review
- Analysis and Lessons Learned
- Conception and standardization
- Support and administration
history
The NATO Memorandum of Understanding establishing the center was signed on September 29, 2015. It was certified by NATO on February 22, 2017 and officially opened in October 2017.
